Guru Road Restoration Project begins

On October 20, 2024, Stewards of the Black Rock Desert launched our first direct service project — the Guru Road Restoration Project. This effort is supported in part by a grant from Travel Nevada administered through the Friends of Black Rock High Rock. A total of 12 volunteers worked to remove painted rocks, recover original rocks that had been painted, pull weeds, and bring in new material to bring the Ground Zero artwork back from a state of disrepair and into a state more closely resembling its original condition.
